SONIC STORYTELLER

I’m lucky to live and work from my little stone cottage in the stunning Peak District National Park, where I produce music for film and video, creating a backdrop of sound to underline the message and vision of the director. Whether it’s gentle strings, epic percussion, whimsical synths or treated vocals, I write music to enhance the emotional depth of each project I undertake.

With a strong foundation in classical music, I’ve written for theatre and concert hall; performed in folk, punk, indie and jazz bands; written music for corporate videos; and produced radio jingles.

I like to think that no one really notices my music – only when it’s taken away. I don’t want to obscure, merely to enhance. I can transform a simple scene into something happy or sad, tense or melancholic. I am led by the story being told and mould my scores to fit their purpose.
